AW71 to M46 Conversion

I have an 85 244 with the B230F/AW71, and I am picking up an 87 740 B230F/M46 tomorrow, I am curious if anyone knows of any gotchas/tips on the conversion of the 244 from the AW71 to the M46. Are there an electronic issue when you convert? i.e. different ECU, etc. I do not know the condition of the M46 transmission (the 740 motor is seized) is there any tips on things to check. I am not a transmission guy, so not familiar with this. Any help appreciated from my fellow bricksters.
