Replacing Factory Stereo and Speakers 200 1992

1992 240 Wagon. Cassette player is long dead, and the speakers are toast. I want to get a basic good quality AM/FM/CD player, and replace the front and rear door speakers. I was ok w/ the factory set when it was working. I have checked Crutchfield but there are way too many choices, I need some help on recommened brands and $$ required to get a decent replacement w/o going hog wild. Can I do this for $200? Are amps necessary for 4 speakers? When I was a teenager I wanted to spend my life savings on my car stereo. Not any more, I must be an old fart now, half the time I've got the AM radio on, just like Pops.
