Status of my front disc brake conversion 444-544

This is so exciting. Both lower shock mount bolts have now been cut and welded at angles, and the lower shocks are now both reinstalled in the front (they don't interfere with the turning radius now)...

We cleaned up the new disc rotors last night with brake cleaner. The calipers are both mounted. The pads are in place (there was a slight interference/ the dics were a little off center on the passenger side, so we had to do a little grinding on that caliper to make everything fit perfectly). Anyway, the only thing left to do is make some new brake lines and then we can test drive the car with 1) brand new front suspension and 2) new disc brakes

Wow, this is exciting. It's like test driving a brand new car. I hope the brakes work!! I hope the supsension doesn't "clunk." Everything should be fine, though. I know I'm worrying for nothing.

I did jack the car up last night, taking her tired cross member off those jack stands (where she's been resting for the past 9 months), and lowered her onto a wheel-- to make sure the new disc calipers don't interfere with the wheel wells. The calipers fit in the wheel well! (I kinda doubted everything would fit, I don't know why). This is so cool.
