I went through some older threads on the S/V90 sunroof and I have a problem that others have had: the vent mode opens but it does not retract. Thanks to some notes on the list, I was able to identify that the plastic guide liner was breaking down and sections are missing on both sides.
I was able to repair the sunroof in my '93 with some help from the FAQ's and some adjustments and snugging up the screws, but this is a different animal.
Has anyone had recent experience with replacing the guides? If the new parts are not much better than the old ones, I may just keep it the way it is. It is not leaking and sits flush. There are only a couple of perfect days in the year for the sunroof to be open and having the glass is really nice in itself over the metal roof I am accustomed to. Eventually the wind noise wears me down anyway, especially at highway speeds.
I do, however, like to have everything working and I have time and a heated garage so it not like when I worked on the other sunroof in that it had to be done before the next storm...
Is the factory manual useful for this repair?
