Throttle Bore 700 1991

My '91 740 has been dying while I am on the road. The mechanic where I take it checked out the fuel pumps/relays, etc and found they are working OK. In fact, one of the fuel pumps is a year old. Then someone told me to check the "throttle bore" which is in the air cleaner somewhere-this could be dirty and would'nt hurt to clean it. How can I get to the throttle bore? Thanks.
