It'll be a fun car either way. To be quite honest, I don't know much about real racing. I just know that I really enjoy a manual in my turbo 245 when out on the road. I can understand why an auto would be quicker, certainly in a drag race, but maybe even on a road course. If you're really going to go racing, perhaps an auto is best for winning. I just think that a manual is always more fun on the open road, maybe not so good in a traffic jam though. I'm kind of a control freak and just like to choose my own gear thank you.

Keep us posted, sounds like a fun, reasonable-budget project!
