Tire belt separation - cause? 700

One of my fairly new Yokohama Avid H4S tires developed a belt separation. Most unplesant, all the thumping etc. But then I started thinking. . . Between what they came with and what I put on them I've had 16 Yokohama tires on all my cars in the past 6 to 7 years and never a defect. BUT the Volvo 745T came with a tire on it that had a belt sep. Which is why I replaced all 4 on it with the Yoko H4S tires. So now I'm wondering if there is something about the CAR that could be causing the tires to have belt separations? Like front-end problems, etc. What do you guys think? FWIW, when there are good tires on the front, there are no undue front-end symptoms like pulling, vibrations, shimmy, etc. All either dead smooth or well within normal parameters.
