What is it with this 240 mufflers ? 200 1989

When I got the car at 155K miles three years ago, I put new mufflers and pipes from the cat back.

Two years later I had to replace the back muffler, it broke at the welding where the axle pipe attaches. The muffler (Bosal I believe) being under warranty I got a new one, got the 2 year old S tail pipe out from the 2 year 'old' Bosal and put all this back in.

Now one year later the 'new' Bosal muffler broke too, this time at the welding where there is a small bracket for the rubber hanger right before the S pipe.

Last time I did replace the Bosal myself, using a Hax saw and I paid a muffler shop a few dollars to remove the S pipe with a torch.

Why are these mufflers so weak? My engine does move a bit when I start the car, and rocks somewhat at iddle, but shouldn't the rubber hanger take that stress? And not the welding of the muffler...
