Oil changes 700 1987

Hi:

It seems like a waste to change mobil 1 at 3K Oil changes. You might as well save money and use a good turbo grade dino oil if that's you intent.

Now on the opposite extreme. I know of people who keep it in there for 10-20K miles, with oil analysis. They contention is: It's going to use a Qt. every 2K miles. So that's 5 to 10 qts. top up between changes. This is risky business for me.

I'm inclined to favor the middle, around 5K. Seems to work for me with an older Garrett.
