Value of 88 DL wagon with dead auto trans? 200

Hello all,

Wondering what the opinion of folks might be, as to the sales value of an 88 DL wagon with a dead auto tranny, and approx. 152K on the odometer.

A friend of mine has this car...which has been sitting on his carport for 3 years now (since tranny death). We tried to jump it today..no go, cranking very slowly.
Basically rust free car sitting in Charlotte NC.

I am pondering purchase of this vehicle...and I understand that judicious waffling is the perogative of the smart buyer.....further, I have checked with Kelly BB and found the "fair value" (dead trans) to be around 900 bucks.

FYI...dust covered but clean interior on this 88DL wagon...not too many options I could detect besides factory tach, gages, and rear wiper.

Thanks!
