cooling system leaks 444-544

First off, thanks for all the information and opinions regarding my questions and problems with rebuilding my cylinder head. With that all done, the head has been installed with all new gaskets including those little rings on top of the water pump. Now there is a water leak somewhere around the water pump. If I had to guess (and I do) the leak is at the top of the water pump. Perhaps those little rubber parts moved while I was installing the head.
Is there a problem removing the water pump and replacing (if necessary) the seals between the pump and the head?
What are the other likely places for a leak around the pump. It does not appear to be a pump shaft seal leak.
Weather is changing and I need to get this PV back on the road!
Thanks
Chris
