240 died at highway speed and then no start

Im looking at buying an 89 Volvo 240. The current owner said he was driving it down the highway and it died. The car will crank now, but it wont start. Im assuming its one of 3 things.

Fuel Pump Relay (Or fuse)
Crank Position Sensor
Timing Belt

Is there a way to check for these things without replacing them? Like I said I dont want to go to this guys house, Fix the car right infront of him, then try to buy it at his 'non running' price.

Thanks for any help!
