Replace Brake Fluid - Why ??? 200

There have been many posts regarding the regular (every 2 years)
flushing/replacing of brake fluid in our trusty bricks.
Honestly, I don't understand why. I've owned these things
since the late sixties and never once deliberately replaced fluid.
I might also add that I never ever had any issues caused by brake fluid.

As an engineer, it also doesn't make much sense to me...
It's a sealed system without significant contamination other than air.
There are no real moving parts other than the master cylinder
on one end and calipers on the other. Temperature variation should
not be enough to break the fluid down.

Go ahead and convince me otherwise.
