cam gear questions...

I'm looking into getting the VX cam kit from IPD. However my engine is the b230fD, with the rounded tooth profile. Will the adjustable cam gear work with this set-up, or will it chew up my timing belt? If it's not compatable, could the teeth be reshaped to fit? Not the greatest idea, I know, but I'd rather not have to replace all my timing sprockets just to make this work.
