Regina, no start, no fuel.problem found 700 1990

Posted this problem earlier this week, http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=1056331
thanks for all the replies.
Instead of testing for fuel pressure I thought it might be easier to first ascertain whether the pump was running. It was drawing about 1.4 amps, according to the FAQ it should be about 6.
I removed the cover over the fuel pump/sender assy in the tank and jumped the pump/system relay. No noise at all, COuld the pump be that quiet? Lots of rust on the banjo fitting so I banged on it awhile. Hey! I hear the pump now! Remove jumper, car starts. But will not resart. Bang on fitting some more, pump starts.
Well this isn't too reliable. Will be ordering a new pump I guess...........
