Fuel pump? S90-V90

Hey guys,

For the past couple weeks, my wife has been tellimg me about an "airplane sound coming out of the vents, and from under the hood" of our V90. She means that the car is making a low whining sound, like when you're sitting on the runway in an airplane. Today, i noticed the noise, and it's actually kind of loud. I haven't had a chance to get into it yet, but the noise seems to be coming from under the hood, ont he passenger side of the car. It's obviously an electric motor of some sort, because it turns turns on and off with the key, regardless if the motor is running. It doesn't rev up with the engine. But it does momentarily pause whenever I press the brake pedal.

Is this a bad fuel pump? Where is the fuel pump located?

Thanks,
Eric
