Right taillight not working 700 1985

I got stopped the other night. My right tail light stopped working! No "Fix-it ticket" this time, but they have my number. My brake light and turn signal still work. Outboard (red) marker light works. No juice coming through wire. Bulbs new, replaced both right and left side, before I checked for juice. Replaced bulb failure sensor with wrecking yard piece. No luck. It might be bad also, but what are the odds. Can one bypass this sensor, or jump wire it somehow? Anyone got any ideas or sage advise? Brick is an '85 740 GLE sedan, and has been a trusty steed for many years. I've alway been able to keep her going,"just a little longer"(196+K), but sadly she's getting closer and closer to the scrap heap!
