Early Mazda 626 master brake cylinder 120-130

Has anyone tried a Mazda 626 master brake cylinder in their 122? It's a vertical mount dual circuit unit with the correct bolt pattern. I bought a new one off of ebay for $10, and the auto stores sell them for ~$45. I haven't tried it, and was wondering if anyone can give some details? I'll play around with it this weekend, and post some pictures if anyone is interested.

It was mentioned in a Vclassic article about a 544 brake conversion, but no details given.
