I've never had this happen but I was under the impression that if the belt breaks while you are underway, the pistons and valves get out of sync. Thus a piston comes up and a valve is hanging down and the two smash into each other and great damage occurs. Is this right? Long Island Expressway.....a tough place to sort this out !
