544 Running Rough 444-544

My 544 with a B-18 recently started running rough. Especially at idle. In checking the engine i have done the following....

1 Compression on all cylinders is ok
2 Dwell set
3 Timing set
4 Spark ok at all plugs
5 Spark plug gap & condition ok

Here's the kicker....
I can pull spark plug wires #1 AND #2 with no effect.
With #1 and #2 in place, if i pull #3 or #4 the engine will die.
It appears i am only running on cylinders #3 and #4.
Intake and exhaust valves #1 and #2 (as seen through oil filler) are
opening and closing.

HELP....Im out of ideas
