I'm having a few issues with my daughters '92 745 with a Rex/Regina system.
She called me saying "my car won't idle and when I try to give it gas it won't go anywhere". When I got home the car had been sitting for several hours. I started the car and it would sorta idle and when you mashed the accelerator it stumbled but ran respectable. After it had run for 60 to 90 seconds it just died. It was a bit hard to start but it would start and then start stumbling and try to die. As long as I was on the throttle just a tiny bit it would try to run. If I let off the throttle it would die and if I tried to mash the throttle any further down the engine would try to die. If you very lightly tapped the throttle youcould get the speed to come up and it would hold steady but if you mashed it down even a little faster it would die.
If the car had a MAS I'd say it was bad but it doesn't. I've checked the vacuum line to the MAP sensor and it is good. I had a problem when I bought the car of it not wanting to run or idle and it was a bad vacuum elbow on the line going to the MAP sensor (that's why I checked that first).
I bought a fuel filter for it and I thought I'd change that this afternoon but I'm leaning toward the MAP sensor being bad. Any thoughts??
I thought that there was a seperate Rex/Regina FAQ for troubleshooting but I can't seem to find it. does anyone know where I can find it??
Also, any help you can offer will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony T
