Idle problems 700 1987

Hello Gary:

Some here have said give the IAC a quick tap with a hammer when the idle is high to see if it drops down to normal again-- if so, get a new IAC. I haven't tried this myself-- the IACs that I have had misbehave have either needed cleaning, or else were intermittent on a much shorter timescale-- more like skipping than sticking...

Have you cleaned it out well? Keep the carb cleaner out of the electrical portion of the valve. I have been meaning to get a the plug and a bit of harness to use to hold the valve in the open position for cleaning. Next time I am at the pick-n-pull...

Good luck!
