Oily tailpipe 140-160

Hi All,
Since this is the only forum that I participate online, I am sure you guys can help me out with this. Few weeks ago, I posted that my Mitsubishi was burning oil somehow, it did not smoke, and nor was the taipipe oily. I recently took it for a tune-up, and since then, the tailpipe has oily residue in it, although it does not smoke under normal driving and at idle. Also, it burns a bit more oil than it used too. Will rebuilding the head cure this or are we looking at rings as well? I have a few off days coming up, and my garage says that the job can be done in 2 days, new headgasket and all. Any advise?

Meanwhile, for this weekend, I got to go take a look at the 144's remote shifter which is acting up...
