I've joined the 900 club 900

It appears I've joined the 900 club. I put a down payment today on a '95 940 turbo. It has 87k miles on it and was owned by an older couple that I don't think ever took it out of the city (Chicago). Not a speck of rust or body damage other than some worn paint on the edge of the driver's door. I don't think the trunk has ever been used.

I took it to a Ford dealership and they did a pre-purchase for me. Rear brakes new, front brakes need pads in 5k miles. Suspension tight and all bushings look/feel good. New (cheapie) tires. Other than a little seepage on a front corner of the oil pan, no oil leaks. The exhaust is crumbling from the converter back but as its the original I expected that. The AC wasn't working and a check found no freon. The car lot authorized a fix so it was filled with freon and no leaks detected. Froze me out of the car when I tried it. The clips for the air filter box are all broken off and just hanging. Filter is clean. Tranny fluid and engine oil appear new.

The car was regularly serviced at a local Lexus dealership.

Cosmetically, a couple of things. The vinyl on all 4 interior doors is letting loose from under the trim along the windows and is bunching up and generally looking like hell. Also the previous owners smoked and everything in the cabin has that greasy/grimy feel to it. And of course, yellowed headlights.

A couple of questions about the interior. Would it be possible to remove the inside window trim and peel the vinyl back and reglue or is that something that's beyond a repair. Also, what's best for removing smoke smell? I'm going to Lysol what I can to get rid of the nicotine coating and will a spray can of like a febreeze kill the rest of the smell?

I'll be shortly looking for some parts. If anyone has a turbo airbox and cover they'd like to get rid of I'd be buying. I'd also be looking for a top center heater vent louver assembly. And an ashtry. Previous owners must of worn it out. My goodness, the fuses are right there behind the ashtray? Oh, I need an owner's manual also.

Am I setting myself up for leaks by switching to synthetic with this milage? I'm assuming engine was fed dino oil.

After driving 240s for 15 years and my S40 for 5, this thing is like piloting a barge.
