OK... great. I was just double checking to make sure that my EGR temp sensor did work... and I found out it doesn't.
The wiring is hooked up properly, but there is infinite resistance on the leads to the temp sensor. Oddly, I have the sensor in the EGR and a sensor with its leads cut stuck as a plug in the pipe after the EGR. The dealership where my parents bought this car put the "plug" in. I don't know why they did exactly, but I suspect they wouldn't give away a part they could use.
Someone previously posted that the in-pipe vs in-valve sensors are NTC versus PTC (pos/neg temp coefficient)... and the one I have that was made into a plug has its wires clipped all the way down to the heat-shield metal sheath. The other gives me infinite resistance regardless of if i'm testing 1K ohm or <10 ohm.
So... Does anyone know how I can find out if it's a NTC or PTC sensor? The sensor gives me no reading, but I might try to snag one from PickNpull.
I checked online, found only one place that carried them... for 200$ apiece.
Thanks in advance,
Will
