Drivers mirror on '94 940 900

Ok, one other thing wrong with this car is that the
driver's side rear view mirror ain't moving with the motor.
If you push the buttons, you can hear the motor go, but
the mirror only moves back and forth when you push it
with your finger. It doesn't stay in place either.

What am i likely to need in order to fix this
prior to removing the glass. Any other hints on
removing the glass other than the FAQ?

Is it easy to just remove the mirror from my '91 740 and
put onto the 940? ('tho I think the 940 might have heated
mirrors and the 740 doesn't. Do I care? not if it saves
me $$ and effort).

Thanks
