Performance upgrades for 240 wagon 200 1992

I was just curious if some people out there would be kind enough to give some input on what kind of performance upgrades are possible for a 240 wagon. I know it's a wide topic, but to narrow my inquiry somewhat, I'm wondering what kind of stock suspension parts I could put on my '92 240 wagon. I just put Virgo wheels with new "performance" tires on the wagon, so I'm wondering what else I can add and where I can find it. For example, are GT suspension components the same as GLT or Turbo 240's? Please forgive my generalities here but I just don't know what I'm talking about frankly. As an example, I have no idea what a sway bar does. Any input/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
