ECT sensor replacement 900 1994

Check out the Engine Sensors section of the 700/900 faq, great tips on testing and replacing the ect sensor.

You could also consider removing the intake manifold to improve access. That way you gain a new, fresh intake gasket, can pull the IAC and clean it, pull the breather box ( will need a new o-ring if you do) and clean it and the flame trap, check out the heater hoses and valve, clean up the ledge on the side of the motor that collects crud, animal nests etc.

You do not have to pull it. Just makes things easier, and offers a chance to get other maintenance items out of the way.
