I have a '94 940 w/182K miles. It badly needs front rotors and pads. The rear pads were replaced about 20K miles ago, so I need to check those as well, I presume. This is an all-around family vehicle, plus I use it to move my drums when I'm playing jobs. The car gets a mix of city and highway driving. It's not a turbo, and isn't driven hard. I've checked prices for front rotors (11" w/ ABS) at IPD and FCP. FCP is a bit cheaper (if I had the right part numbers) for the stock rotors and PBR Deluxe (organic?) pads. Is that a good combination? Are there other good sources for rotors and pads?
I've read various posts here and on other boards, plus the FAQ's. I'd still like some opinions on what to get. I haven't done this type of job for many years, so I want to go slowly and carefully, and have the right parts before I start. ANY suggestions or helpful hints about procedures, tools to have, etc. are welcome.
I just saved a bunch (not on my car insurance...) by diagnosing a fuel mixture issue as a result of good advice from the brickboard...thanks again!
