Thanks to all on this one
my 1986 244 GL was a having a slow start then started to run rough ....i feared the worst before total panic set in i checked the board and read a few similar posts. the plugs, wires, and the flame trap are all new even the coil and the fuse next to the battery. the i learned of the mysterious device called the air mass meter A.K.A. (A. M. M.) that was the culprit i yanked out the hoses attached to it located holes in them an sealed them up i also cleaned the throttle body for good measure and bam she kicked over not one hesitation and ran with out attitude ...so thank you all
