More Charging Problems 200 1989

If in doubt as to whether that alt will charge or not just start the car up and jumper 12 volts right to where that red wire connects and it will energize a good alternator and you will hear the engine RPM change as the alt loads the engine down. If it does this then you have a good alt and your problem is elsewhere, if it does not load the engine down and start charging then your problem is in the alternator, providing it is all wired properly.
