Speedometer Gear In Transmission 200 1983

My speedometer is showing about 5-8 MPH faster than I am actually driving. As much as I love racking miles up on my 245 I don't like putting 1.2-1.3 miles on for every actual mile I drive. This is a cable driven speedo and I just got new tires close to the size specified on the door. Is there different speedometer gears available somewhere (either for the speedo or the transmission)that could get this thing more acurate or am I stuck with it till I need new tires again in 85,000 miles when I can compensate some of the ratio.
