aw-70 troubles 200 1989

hey guys and gals,

trouble with auto tranny in my 89 245 with 245,000. been to faq's, printed out don fosters tips, but thought i'd get feedback from you pros also.

shifts are mushy with a very short time between 1-2 shift (lost the usual kick in pants 1-2 shift) . and no kickdown. until month ago it had the usual resistance when ya stepped on gas pedal. it would then downshift normally. after week of -20 and some snow, it lost all that. i now can push pedal down to my heart's content going up a hill and all i get is boggggggggggggg. 2001 i had the kickdown cable replaced because it was broken. has the same thing happened in your opinion(s)? or out of adjustment? ( don's faq's). i did a flush last august to try and see if that would cure my sometimes non functioning reverse. not! or is all this symptoms of impending doom to trans?

short poll. i know of 4 245's of various years that have had engine fires( including my 80) anybody else?

thanks from the rapidly thawing great white (now yucky brown) north

gary c.
