Dropping the piston from below? How will you replace it? S90-V90 1997

My mechanic and I did this to my V90 with a "Terraclean" machine that he has as a preventitive maintenance measure. The engine ran well to begin with, but afterward we knew that it was nice and clean inside as when I removed the exhaust hose from the tailpipe, the inside was nearly spotless! NO black residue at all. I was certainly impressed. The only thing I didn't like was when the solution ran out (it runs on the solution not fuel from the tank) and the engine stalled, it made some nasty sounds! Just like in the movies when engines run out of gas, hahaha.
