i was looking for recommendations on types of coolants to use in a NA 1992 240. i read the FAQ, but was wondering what conventional wisdom says on just using normal coolant?

also, is it advisable to run water from a garden hose through the expansion tank after draining to flush out as much as possible? ive seen some posts that just say drain the block and lower radiator hose and refill. others say do that, and then follow up with a garden hose for a more thorough flush? of course refilling with a 50/50 mix afterwards.

is distilled water bought at the local supermarket acceptable for the water component of the mixture?
