Testing oil pressure? 900 1994

I have searched the forum...but oddly enough there's no posts about how to test the oil pressure on a B230 red block. It could be that the search function of this site needs to be improved -- many times I could not find posts on what should be common topics.
Anyway, my problem is that, every time the car is started, the oil light would stay on for about 0.5 to 1 second, then go out. It does not come on while the engine is running. The car started doing this about six months ago. I have changed several Mann filters and ruled out the drain back problem of the oil filter. Now I am thinking of testing the oil pressure using a mechanical gauge, just to play safe. Could someone who did this share the experience?
The car is a 1994 940 non-turbo with 117k miles. I put about 10k miles since the oil light thing started, and it did not get worse (the oil light always stayed on for 0.5-1 second after starting and did not become worse).
Thanks in advance.
