SU carb linkage 120-130

the linkage between the two carbs on a b18.
when you mover the rod down, the link (horizontal) moves about its axia and the carb butterfly open right? do they both open together?

it seem that one isnot moving with the link rod or the other carb, is it moving and not visible on the outside? (where the fast idle adjust screw live, that doesn't seem to be moving.)the link to the return spring.

I placed a cotter pin in a small hole on the link rod, temporarily when runn ing the engine parked and both butterflys open. is the link broken, and how do i fix it.
i hope someone know what i am talking about.
