speedometer cable 140-160

So it's one thing after another. Today I found out that my speedometer cable is broken inside of the sheath. I have a 1972 142 with a manual tranny. The old broken cable is the one from my automatic tranny that I used. Is there a difference between the auto and manual cable (I susspect the manual is a bit shorter)? The ones that I find on the internet for sale say they are for the automatic. What is a good place to find one for the manual? Does anyone have one they can part with? Are there any good pointers anyone can give me on replaceing the cable, tricks or warnings from others who may have found something to make it easier or that I might do wrong and mess it up? Thanks for any info on this.
