Well, I've had a rattle from the back of my wagon that has taken way too long to isolate. It usually happens on real bumpy roads, so it's not always present. But today, my wife and I were out for a ride on a nice muddy back road and that rattle just kept on a'rattlin'. "You hear that?" "Hear what?" "That rattle." "What rattle?" And she tells ME that I have selective hearing. So I pulled over and had her drive whilst I sat in the back and discovered the noise was coming from above the headliner. The second liner rib from the back is loose on the passenger side where I imagine it fits into a bracket. Great! I found it! At Last! Upon returning to home, I opened the hatch and thought I'd get this straightened out in a minute only to find that I'm not sure how to pull this thing down. Tried prying it a bit, but not too much. That didn't seem to be doing it. So...
How does one pull down the rear of a 245 headliner in order to tighten a rattley roof rib? If the answer is something like "You Don't", I think I could slice the material with a box cutter, stuff the afflicted area with cotton balls and use a white tape to seal the deal. This headliner is in good shape, btw. As always, thanks in advance for any help.
