Hitting enter instead of tab!! Sorry for the blank posts! Head is on straight now. I Have a question regarding my cooling system.

I installed the prestone Oat coolant in my 1990 240, and my intention was to flush and refill with Zerex G-05. I removed the lower rad hose and opened the drain cock on the block. Let it drain.
With the thermostat removed I filled the block twice with water and let it drain. I flushed the raditor by allowing water to run through from a garden hose.
All well and good. However, when I refilled the system, it was full after only 7 1/2 quarts! What did I do wrong? The book said the system should take approx 10 qts?
I intend to do the same with my wifes 740. I need to get this right.

Thanks .

Lawrence

I apologize once again for the blank posts. Stupid!
