Stripped axle stem thread NOT! It is the differential 120-130

So I checked out the axle threads. They are NOT the problem. The castle nut is tightened all the way. So the noise has been narrowed down to the differential.

(it makes me wish I bought the rebuilt powdercoated rear axle from New Mexico)

Does anybody have advice on what to look for and helpful hints before I break into it?
