Factory radio FM intermittent 700

Hey everybody.

The factory radio in my sons' '87 760T wagon is exhibiting an intermittent FM reception failure that I can sometimes replicate or correct by wiggling the radio around in its' mount.

Thinking the problem was due to a poor connection at the rear of the radio, I checked the FAQ to get removal instructions. Just now slid the radio out and checked everthing external to the radio case, everything seems fine there.

With the radio powered up and removed from its' mount, the problem continues. I am leaning more towards something loose INSIDE the case. Do any of you have any experience either with this intermittent problem, or with opening the case up to further investigate?

I haven't tried seeing if the radio functions properly with a cassette, but only because I don't believe that would help identify the FM failure.

Any ideas?

TIA,
Mels
