My 1990 240 DL Wagon no Start this morning :-( 200 1990

Oh my... but what a great excuse to ride mot MOTO ;-)

Well here's the deal boys...

"Wendel", my car has a had troubles starting a couple of times lately.

Scenario #1:
After driving from Seattle to Vancouver BC (3.5 hours) I stopped by a friend's house for 10 minutes, got back in the car, and turned the key. The starter was turning like a champ but "Wendel" didn't start right up. I tried again after 10 seconds and no dice. Then after 10 more seconds... he finally started. I KRINGED and drove on.
The Clues: Wendel totally warmed up... didn't start right up.. but started on the third try.

Scenario #2:
Yesterday I started Wendel up in the morning, he started right up.
Drove a mile to Safeway to pick up a donut. Came back to the car, and tried to start him up. The starter turned like a champ but no start. Tried again after a few seconds, no start, waited 5 minutes, tried, no start. Then 10 seconds later tried again. YAY He started!
The Clues: Battery and started seem happy but engine turning over not reliable.

Scenario #3:
This morning... tried to start Wendel. I see lights, but stater is not turning.
The Clues: Yikes!!!

I drive Wendel alot and he starts up without a glitch.
What could this be?
Alternator?
Battery?
Voltage Regulator?
Starter?
Something else?

What do you guys think?
