Need help with my AC/Heater Blower Fan 200 1987

For several months, the AC/Heater Blower Fan on my '87 240 has been making a loud rattling noise no matter what speed its set at. The last couple of days it has stopped blowing at all except for the two highest speeds. At the two highest speeds, the rattle is very loud and intense. I've also smelled what smells like rubber burning, but I have not seen any smoke. The AC cools like it should (temperature wise) and the Heater warms like it should, its just the noisy, and now, smelly blower fan that works on only 2 speeds. Does this sound like a Volvo shop job??

Any help is appreciated.
