Engine oil leak on back of head b230ft 700 1989

I noticed an oil leak down the back side of the head towards the passenger side around #4 sprark plug, the engine has a new head gasket, distributer, valve cover gasket ect.I removed the distributer again for a second look in case I cut an oring upon the install, when I removed the distributer I noticed what appeared to be a galley plug of some sort;which resides under the the distributer backing plate, the plug would not come out for a reseal;so I put high temp sealer in the hole.Has any one seen these galley plugs leak oil?Is the sealer a band-aid with a future leak on the way?
Scott
