Rear Axle Cover 700 1989

Greetings

Could anyone give an opinion on the status of my rear cover axle? Does it look like it's leaking? I've been monitoring it for a while now. There isn't a drop of oil on the ground and the fluid level hasn't really dropped during the normal fluid change interval. I've tried cleaning the area with washing soap and plenty of can degreaser without much success to get it to look new again. The gasket beneath it is original.

If a gasket change is in order, how difficult is it? Anything to be aware of such as things or cables attached to the inner surface of the cover? I notice that the spedometer cable is hooked onto the cover plate.

Thanks in advance

Aslan
