145's gone!!! YAY! and, 142 update. (just my style, nice and wordy) 140-160

So, I traded it. My dad's not happy with that(even though I don't live at home), but I don't care. I got a 1971 142 that's injected... The motor's tired though, and it barely runs(so I'm told, haven't tried starting it yet). But, the good thing is, the car is VERY straight, paint is going, but it's all there, basically all one color, and there's a VERY nice interior in it! It also has been upgraded to the 164 front vented brakes with stainless steel lines. It's freaking SWEET! Pictures coming this weekend.

In the meantime, my original(the '68) 142's been hibernating over the past 6-7 months at my shop that I work at. I had the carbs sent off, got them back, and have been starting the engine every month or so. It still starts really crapily, starting only on a couple cylinders, and sounding like a harley. The plugs are all pretty much fouled though, so I'm going to toss in some new ones to see how that helps. Hopefully that cures most of the issue, but I'm not expecting it to raise the compression on the dying fourth cylinder.

The main thing though, the '68 is falling apart. The chassis has been rusting ever since I bought it 3.5 years ago. It already had holes in the floorboards then, but they'd been patched. The car is only worse now, it's been in 3 "accidents" of sorts, and so the frame has a kink in the trunk(could be pulled pretty easily I'm sure), but all the other "cellulite" and rust just makes it not worth it. Also, it's grown moldy in what's left of the interior over this winter. *sigh*

The plan is to take whatever goodies(swaybar, ignigtion, wires, dizzy, suspension bushings/arms, etc) I want off of the 68 and transfer them over to the 71 over the summer, and then sell of the 142 as a beater(with the worn HS6s from the wagon for something like 500 dollars.

Oh, and the other thing is, the 71 has a title! My wagon DIDN'T! It's an awesome deal. I'm VERY happy. Now I just need a house with a garage that I can use!
