I am not really knowledgable about 960's. But I can tell you this. My 240 was fitted with a different rebuilt rack than what it came with from the factory. Apparently, ZF and CAM racks have some interchangeability on 240's. I'm just speculating here, but maybe that is the case with 960 racks too.

Have you called your rebuilder to discuss this in detail?
