Whew.. That's a relief 900

No, things are running rather well. I've just been untaking some preventing maintenance. my belts, water pump, thermostat, radiator, and expansion tanks are all new as of last summer. The CP sensor was starting to go bad, so that was the only critical concern. The temp sensor was a precaution.

So this sensor does nothing other than drive the gauge and my cooling fan is on a separate control entirely? I can deal with a flat temp gauge, but I do not want to risk an overheat. It sounds as if it is not a problem.

Also, I've been largely unable to locate the correct sensor at any of the usual online parts sources (I can only find the injector sensor). Is there something funky about this front sensor?
