Catalytic converter height from ground volvo 780 1989 700

1) Height, without pulling a tape measure on it I would say it is between 5"-6".
2) Connections in system 7, manifold to head, manifold to headpipe, headpipe to cat, cat to front muffler, front muffler to cross over pipe, cross over pipe to rear muffler, rear muffler to tail pipe.
3)No, the cat does not have a hanger. There are hangers on the front and rear mufflers, right up where the head pipe bends up to the manifold and on the later model stuff there is one more clamp from the back of the trans to the headpipe just before the cat.

One thing you might want to consider is if your set is the type that uses a metal donut and flange set up on the front of the cat is that the donut wears down over time and does not allow for a proper seal when all bolted up. This condition can make for some weird vibrations as well as allowing the nuts to back off. Make sure that is in good shape and orient the flange so that the point of the triangle is straight up at 12:00 and the bottom is flat.
